In case you haven’t already noticed, the Maxi (long) Sundress is a trend-setter this season. I wore a Maxi today and was amazed by the comfort, as well as the ease of transitioning from daytime to night with a simple change of my shoes. Maxi dresses are flattering on pretty much all body types (unless you are very petite/short, in which case the dress might appear to overtake you!)…and I think they are particularly flattering showcasing the baby-bump of pregnant women! Two to check out: Forever 21’s Floral Eyelet Maxi Dress ($27.80) and Nordstrom’s Velvet Touch Maxi Sundress ($58) that is available in a variety of colors (Turquoise pictured here).

Good news jean jacket lovers…the denim jacket has returned as a major fashion staple this Spring! You will find a variety of colors and styles of this all-American jacket hitting the racks at stores near you. The trick is to wear your jean jacket a bit snugger and slimmer than you might have worn it in past seasons. Try going down a jacket size or even buying a children/boy size. I personally like to wear denim jackets with some stretch in the fabric, making them more comfortable to wear, especially in the shoulders and arms! Although pretty much any and every color jacket is “in” this season, my favs are dark denim and white jean jackets. This will be a purchase you certainly won’t regret and will wear with practically anything. Don’t be afraid to try pairing your jacket with unexpected items in your wardrobe. The white jean jacket in photo is from Ann Taylor LOFT and is reasonably priced at $59.50. This cute cropped jean jacket is made by Levi’s and is currently on clearance on the Levi’s website for a mere $39.98!

I love it when it just so happens that a particular season’s “must-have trend” is also a classic wardrobe staple. That’s the case this Spring with the popularity of the Trench Coat. Since the trench is one of the most classic items a woman can have in her wardrobe, this is a piece, if purchased this season, you will continue to wear for years to come! It’s perfect for the unpredictable weather of spring and will come in handy on the rainy/overcast days of summer.

I think designer Michael Kors would agree since he was once quoted: “Put on a trench and your suddenly Audrey Hepburn walking along the Seine.”

Although you can’t go wrong with the classic, go-with-everything khaki-toned trench, there are a lot of fresh color choices available this season.
