8 summer wardrobe essentials

It’s mid-summer and the time in the season where we are all getting tired of our wardrobes. Am I right? 

If you have the itch to buy something new, here are ten essentials you won’t regret purchasing, and I promise you’ll enjoy this season and next summer! {Some of them you can even wear into Fall.}

A White Bag. Those of you who follow me here on the blog and on Instagram regularly probably thought I was going to say “Off the Shoulder Top after seeing this pic! While I do LOVE off the shoulder tops/dresses and while this one is one of my very favs, I had to include a white handbag on the list. Why?! Because it literally goes with everything and adds a refreshing “pop” to any outfit. I love my white bag with neutrals, denim and brights. The bag I am carrying here has been going everywhere with me and is currently 40% off!

A Glam Flat Sandal. Looking glam doesn’t have to be uncomfortable, and, thankfully, fun flat sandals are everywhere this summer. I personally love the lace-up versions like the pair I am wearing here, and find them to be surprisingly flattering on the leg…even muscular calves like mine! {This pair is under $60 and available in lots of colors. I highly recommend them!}

A Fabulous Cover-up. In the years of editing women’s wardrobes, I’ve realized that few women put money and effort into swim coverups. I’ve noticed most women use old sundresses, teeshirts and/or shorts for coverups and then remark that they don’t love how they look poolside on vacation. I’ve come to realize personally the power of a cover-up that makes you feel flattered and fabulous. A great coverup helps us all feel more confident at a pool party, walking around a resort on vacation, a pool-side lunch, etc. {The coverup I am wearing in this pic is linked here.}

Tasseled Jewelry. Tasseled earrings, necklaces and even bracelets are one of the biggest accessory trends this season, and an inexpensive way to add color and pizzaz to your summer wardrobe.

A Kimono. I am new-covert to the kimono and a huge fan! I love that a kimono can transition from a swim coverup to a statement layering piece that can be worn out on the town. Kimonos are trending this summer, but are a classic piece to own. Wear one over shorts, white jeans or even a sundress…as well as a bathing suit, of course! {Shop this one here.}
