Our New Kitchen Reveal

This post has been months in the making, and I am so thrilled to finally share our new kitchen reveal with you today!

First, a little background :: We bought our “new” older 26-year-old home in Johns Creek, GA last March and moved in during the second week of quarantine. We were so thankful to smoothly buy and sell during such a turbulent time, but it was unknown when we would actually be able to start any kind of updates/remodel projects. The time we had quarantined in our new home was actually beneficial, since it gave us time to think through how we wanted to change up the existing kitchen.

Here are a few “before” pics of how the kitchen looked when we purchased our home ::

One of our top priorities was to create a large island like we had in our previous home, where we remodeled our kitchen just two years ago. We love utilizing on oversized island for cooking, eating and entertaining. In this home, taking out existing triangular shaped island and replacing with a larger rectangle-shaped island has significantly increased our overall foot-traffic space and makes the kitchen and adjoining family room feel much more open.

We removed all existing cabinets and employed Cabinet Smart, who we highly recommend, to customize new cabinets and a new island. I chose white for all cabinets, except for the island which is a light grey. Cabinet Smart saved us LOTS of money compared to other quotes and the team was a delight to work with!

Our original kitchen had a desk, which we transformed into a drink station. I had the vision of making this small space inviting to both kids and adults, since we do lots of entertaining. An ice-machine was a top priority, and I chose a can fridge instead of a wine fridge, so kids could have a place to grab sodas, and I could have a place for alll my sparkling waters!

I love how this beverage area came together, it’s pretty and it’s functional. The glass doors help it look “open” and also give vision to bar glasses and serving pieces.

After completing two kitchen remodels, I have learned that the lighting, faucets and hardware are the “icing” that gives a kitchen uniqueness, style and pizazz! I am so happy with how all of these elements came together in our new kitchen!

Hudson Valley Lighting has been a go-to source for lighting in both our last home and this one. I have had my eye on these oversized Hudson Valley Lighting Forsyth lanterns long before starting this renovation and I couldn’t be more in love with the way they look hanging over our new island. These lanterns represent a perfect fusion of classic/traditional with a modern twist, and they come in several sizes. I sourced the funky lightbulbs on Amazon here.

I partnered with Delta Faucet for our gorgeous new kitchen faucet and pot-filler. I selected the Traditional Wall Mount Pot Filler and the Cassidy Pulldown Faucet.  I was attracted to the Cassidy Pulldown Faucet’s classic design, combined with modern technology and enhanced Touch2O® Technology, and I love how the Champagne Bronze mixes with the different tones of gold metallics throughout our kitchen.

Our entire family is enjoying that the Delta Faucet Touch2O® Technology, allows us turn the water on
and off with a simple tap anywhere on the spout or handle. So easy! As a mom, I appreciate that Delta Touch2O® Technology helps keep our faucet clean, even when hands aren’t! The design is sleek and stylish, and the technology is oh-so-functional!

This is our first kitchen to have a pot-filler and talk about another thing making cooking easier! I love how pretty this Delta Traditional Wall Mount Pot Filler looks, and how simple it is to operate. It truly finishes our stove top/vent hood space like a gorgeous accessory…and one that is super functional, too!

All in all, we are SO happy with the final product of our kitchen renovation. It’s a space that feels warm & inviting, a mix of glam & traditional and gives us ample space to cook & entertain. We have already used this new space so much for both, and we look forward to creating lots of memories in this room!
