Summertime is quickly coming to a close. The family and I were grateful to squeeze in one last beach vacation before the new school year begins.
We road-tripped to one of our favorite family vacay destinations, the Omni Amelia Island Resort, and were loaned a brand new 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited Platinum to roadtrip in! Both the luxe vehicle and the gorgeous resort made our vacation oh-so-fun!
We stayed in a corner balcony suite at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation and the views were fantastic. I highly recommend one of these spacious corner suites for a family! We love that this resort offers a spacious pool, poolside dining and drink service, easy beach access, as well as lots of dining options and activities in close proximity.
I highly recommend renting a golf-cart while visiting Amelia Island Plantation. It’s a highlight of our trip, and we usually golf-cart to breakfast, dinner and use it to explore during the day.
Speaking of dining, we frequent Marché Burette in the Amelia Island Plantation for breakfast, and tried the “Steak Out” Sunday night dinner for the first time this trip. One of the best steaks I have ever eaten! Highly recommend making a Steak Out weekend dinner reservation.
One of our favorite aspects of Amelia Island is its natural beauty. Amelia Island seems unique compared to most other beaches in the southeast. We love to look for sea-turtles, hunt for sand-dollars & shark-teeth, as well as surf the waves and fish the sea! It’s truly a beach destination that has plentiful outdoor activities for every age!

Lily and I ventured to the Omni Amelia Island Racket Club for the first time this trip and it was impressive! There were plentiful courts {many shaded} and a great tennis shop. If you are a tennis lover, be sure to pack your racket next time you visit the Omni Amelia. Rackets are also available for rent, which is nice!

I enjoyed wearing several new Amazon swimsuits on this vacation and this high-waisted ruffle two-piece was one of them! You just can’t beat such a flattering suit for this affordable price.
Like I mentioned at the beginning of the post, my friends at Local Toyota Dealers loaned us a new 2020 Highlander Hybrid Limited Platinum for the trip and we were OH SO IMPRESSED!! This Highlander was a total package of luxury, comfort, spaciousness, and offered impressive highway and off-road capability.
It’s difficult to narrow down our favorite things about this vehicle since there are MANY, but a few highlights are :
We were able to comfortably pack ALL the beach loot for a family of four with ease, including fishing poles, beach gear, boogie boards and a cooler. We had ample room and storage.
We got in the low/mid-30’s MPG on highway driving to Amelia Island! Mike was super impressed.
The interior design is gorg. I loved the cognac-colored leather seats, wood paneling, oversized navigation screen, captain chairs and a sunroof that spanned most of the roof. The interior of this vehicle is stunning and oh-so-comfortable.
We tested out this Highlander’s 4-wheel-drive capability on a “difficult” drive on a State Park beach, and it handled so well. We were later told that many vehicles can get stuck on this beach, but this Highlander had no issues at all. Mike was wowed and our entire family enjoyed the adventurous off-roading experience. If you do visit Amelia Island in a 4-wheel-drive SUV or truck, I highly recommend venturing to Amelia Island State Park for an afternoon. It’s serene, quite and beautiful!
