As women, we all struggle with that in-between summer and fall weather {that we here in Georgia especially experience!} and what to wear during this time. When you walk out the door in the morning, it’s cool enough for a jacket and by lunchtime you’re peeling the layers off! This is especially true for working women. When dressing for an office environment, it can be tough to know what is going to be appropriate for work {or maybe what is going to keep you warm in your below-zero, arctic tundra of an office!} and keep you comfortable throughout the day.
Today, I’m talking about some of my most recent work wear combos that I’ve used during this transition from summer into fall {keep in mind, these are business/agency-casual work outfits, not for work environments that require a suit}. So listen up, working women! Here is some inspiration for you…
1) Army green & navy :: I am loving the army green trend this fall. It is a great color that can transition from season to season. I wore this combo on a fall day when it was still quite warm out. The army green and navy combo screams fall season, but the lightweight feel of the pants and the short sleeves kept me comfortable from morning to night!
2) Another trend I’m loving for fall is the “mini trench” :: a lightweight, shorter version of a regular trench coat, you can throw this over anything from a dress, to a top, to a skirt/tee combo. Great for those chilly mornings that become hotter days, and perfectly appropriate for the office.
3) Colored work pants are a great way to pep up your office wear a bit. While black and neutral pants are always appropriate, they can get boring and stuffy! So add a bit of your own style flair to your work wear, and try some colored skinny work pants {like these I have on here, from LOFT. I have them in 3 colors and wear them almost weekly!}
4) Black on Black :: I’m always a fan of the ever-classic all black look. It never goes out of style, and is easy, effortless and chic! Perfect for a rainy day or one of those days where we don’t like ANYTHING in our closet! Reach for the black.
5) Lace & Booties :: lace is a great fall trend that can be worn in and out of the office. It is both appropriate for work, and great work weekend wear and a night out! Here I paired my lace top with black skinny pants and heeled booties, another fall staple.
6) And finally, Casual Friday {for those of you fortunate enough to have casual Friday, like me!} :: I always look forward to Fridays, for the obvious reason of it being the start of the weekend, but also because I can wear JEANS again! I love pairing a flirty blouse with a pair of jeans and booties in the fall. That way you can go straight from work to happy hour, date night, or wherever the night may take you without having to worry about changing. Here’s one of my most recent Casual Friday outfits.
Love what you see? Here are some great work wear items {even some that I own and love} for you to make the transition from summer into fall with in the workplace ::
I hope these outfit inspirations served your closet well. We’d love to see you put your unique flair on your work wear when transitioning into fall! So go ahead, “fall” in love with fall this year!
