As a disclaimer, this is one of the most {grossly} authentic blog posts I have ever written. The pictures below are not pretty, and are depicting a part of my skin I have been battling to correct each day for the past 3 years. I know in talking with many of you, my readers and friends, that you, also struggle with hyperpigmentation and skin issues like me, so I accepted the challange to try a new product and document my results in front of the masses!
During my pregnancy with my twins, melasma {otherwise know as “the pregnancy” mask} appeared on my forehead. {Lovely, I know!} For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, melasma is a hyperpigmentation/darkening of the skin. Since giving birth, I have tried dozens of products, including cleansers, topical creams, prescription products, medical peels and the list goes on, but in all honesty, I have been pretty disappointed with the results of them all.
My good friend, Lucy, who is an Independent Consultant for Arbonne International {a company I have come to greatly respect over the years} called me a few months ago to tell me about a new product launch…a product called “Arbonne Intelligence Genius.” Genius is a plant-based retinol, that is a healthy and safe alternative to Retin-A and other chemical products. {If you research side-effects for some of these retinal and hyper-pigmintation treatment creams, it’s pretty scary!}
Lucy asked me if I would test out the new Genius product, using it every night for two months, and document my results. Skeptically, I told her that if I saw improvement, I would gladly tell the world about it!
Here is my ultra-scary “before pic!” {Insert cringe.}
After two months ::
After just 2-3 weeks, I noticed a BIG improvement in my overall skin tone and smoothness. After the first month, I really began seeing my melasma begin to lighten. And, now, at the two month mark, I find myself hardly having to cover up my forehead melasma patch with concealer in the morning! I am a beleiver! And, coming from me, that means a lot.
And really, you don’t have to have crazy dark spots on your face like me to benefit from this product. It is proven to improve skin moisture, elasticity and firmness, as well as dark spots and fine lines. I love how easy it is to apply…just wipe a resurfacing pad over your face each night, after cleansing. Simple as that!
