Spring is officially in full swing!
My spring shoe collection is shaping up quite nicely, and I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite shoe purchases for the season + a line up of the “must-have” categories of Spring/Summer shoes that should be in a well-rounded closet.
1. A low-heeled gladiator :: By gladiator, I simply mean a low-heeled or flat strappy sandal. This is one of the most essential Spring/Summer shoes since you can wear this style sandal with literally everything from jeans to shorts to skirts to dresses. I prefer this shoe in a nude or metallic so that it can pair with black, white and any color. This Sam Edelman version pictured is simply fabulous, and quite comfy, too!
2. A low-heeled espadrille :: Every woman needs some kind of espadrille in her warm weather wardrobe. This low-heeled style by Sole Society has been a go-to favorite in my wardrobe for the past three seasons! I love that the height flatters the the leg, without sacrificing comfort!
3. A colorful sandal :: If color is your thing, it’s the season to incorporate a bright hue into a pair of shoes! A fun pop of yellow, hot pink, coral or even blue can be more versatile than you might think! I love wearing colored sandals with white jeans or with blue jeans and a white top. This pair by Halogen is so fun and comes in several fab color, but they run big! Be sure to size down.
4. A high-heeled espadrille :: If you are a heel-lover like me, a high-heeled espadrille just might be your favorite shoe of the season. This pair by Marc Fisher has become a cult-like favorite, for its versatility and comfort. I have the color blush and it’s the perfect neutral!
5. A fun sneaker :: A comfortable, stylish sneaker is a necessity for warm weather and travel. I love pairing a cute kick, like this blush Adidas pair, with everything from athleisure clothes to denim cutoffs and a tee shirt. These run BIG so be sure to size down at least a half a size, if not a whole size!
6. A comfort wedge :: If you love a heel but have feet issues, or just have a strong need for comfort, this newly-discovered shoe brand, Antelope, is just for you. Antelope makes dozens of fashion-forward, ultra-comfy wedges, and I dedicated a post to them here.
7. A cute pair of flipflops or jellys. These are essential for the beach, pool or lake, but be sure to invest in a pair you love. If you have a cute pair of jellys/flipflops, they can carry you right into a oceanside dinner paired with a sundress! I love this under-$50 Jack Rogers pair, and just purchased a matching coral pair for my daughter, Lily! I also just got this pair in {after I shot these pics} and adore them!
