I’m mixing things up this evening and posting a recipe that I re-created over the weekend. When I posted this pic of the sangria I made for a family cookout on Instagram yesterday and got multiple requests for the recipe, I figured the easiest way to share is here on the blog. If you love sangria like I do, this recipe is easy, perfect for hot weather and a crowd-pleaser!
I adapted the following recipe from this recipe, that I found on Pinterest.
Ingredients ::
- red wine {I used Cab Sav, since that is what I had on hand} :: 1 large bottle {or could use two regular bottles and adapt recipe slightly to taste}
- peach schnapps :: 3/4 cup
- pomegranate juice :: 3/4 cup
- fresh lemon juice from 2 fresh lemons {I just squeezed lemon juice into pitcher}
- 1 bag frozen peaches
- 1 bag frozen raspberries
- 3/4 cup or so frozen pineapple chunks
- oranges :: 2, sliced
- 1 24 oz. bottle Sierra Mist {original reciped calls for raspberry flavored soda water or plain club soda}. I actually only used about 3/4 of the 24 oz. bottle and recommend tasting as you pour!}
Directions ::
Step 1 :: Mix red wine, peach schnapps, pomegranate juice, fresh lemon juice, peaches, raspberries and pineapple in a large pitcher.
Step 2 :: Cover and refrigerate overnight. {I let my batch soak for 48 hours for maximum flavor!}
Step 3 :: Add orange slices and soda the morning before serving, and allow to soak another 3+ hours.
Step 4 :: Pour into glasses, over ice, when ready to serve. Garnish with frozen rasperries and orange slices. Enjoy!
Cheers to summer!
